"The signal split in two"

Invested in the production of painting, Morris’s projects have taken him through an intimate engagement with a variety of traditional and more experimental mediums for developing a surface that is as content rich as it is physically particular. For example, Monochromes titled jouissance, Sow’s Ear Silk Purse, and Fae made of scumbled oil, watercolor, wax, glitter nail polish, on linen over panel. And the more recent textual and textural paintings on Belgian linen over poplar holding layers of oil, encaustic, antique silk, and strawberry glycidate aroma chemical for the viewer.

In 2013 Morris earned an MFA and a Certificate in Gender + Sexuality Studies from Northwestern University and has since exhibited extensively both locally and internationally including Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York; RUSCHMAN, Berlin; The Suburban, Milwaukee; and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, to name a few.
