Caleb Clemente is a visual artist working primarily within the realm of sculpture. Their practice is often crude; materials abstractly and abjectly reference the body through weight, tension, orifices, scat, and hair. The work investigates how physical, external conditions can inform and embody an internal, spiritual experience, often intermingling signifiers of the sacred and profane. Clemente’s work is indebted to and in direct lineage with body horror, professional wrestling, and punk rock.

Clemente graduated with an MFA in Visual Art from the University of Chicago in 2023 and a BA in Art Therapy from Lipscomb University in 2020.
