| Desjardins’ recent painting and large-scale
wall drawings deal with the possibilities of reconciling figurative
representation with process-oriented, intuitive abstraction. She
is a recent recipient of the Berkshire-Taconic Artists Trust Award
and in the fall of 2004 was awarded a residency at the American
Academy in Rome where, as Visiting Artist, she began work on an
on-going monumental Iraq War drawing in response to Trajan’s

Her work is included in numerous private and public collections
including the Academy of Fine Arts, Florence Italy, and Fidelity
Investments. Her work is included in the Boston Drawing Project
at the Bernard Toale Gallery, Boston.
Desjardins’ extensive teaching experience includes visiting
artist/faculty positions in Florence, Italy; Tufts University, Brown
University, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the New
England Conservatory of Music, and Massachusetts College of Art.
